Loctax Service Update – AWS Regional Outage (October 20, 2025)
On October 20, 2025, Amazon Web Services (AWS) experienced a regional outage in its US-EAST-1 data center that caused widespread disruption across the industry.
The incident lasted around 2 hours and 50 minutes and resulted in minor service impact for Loctax customers.
What Happened
A failure in AWS’s US-EAST-1 region temporarily affected several third-party systems used by Loctax, including authentication and monitoring services.
Our main infrastructure — hosted in EU-CENTRAL-1 (Frankfurt) — continued to operate normally.
What Was Affected
During the incident window, a small number of features were impacted:
Single Sign-On (SSO): new login attempts were temporarily unavailable
Customer support chat and ticketing: briefly offline
Error reporting and monitoring: paused temporarily
Status page: unavailable during the event
Users who were already logged in, or who used standard email-and-password login, were not affected.
How we responded
Our engineering and operations teams activated our Incident Respone Plan and Business Continuity procedures immediately. We monitored systems closely, provided alternative support channels, and verified platform stability throughout the incident. All affected services were fully restored after AWS resolved the issue.
Looking ahead
This event confirmed the strength of our platform architecture — Loctax’s core systems remained online throughout.
We’ve since completed a post-incident review and are improving our internal monitoring and communication processes to reduce customer impact from similar events in the future.
